Places To Explore in Glasgow
Despite being a French
Bulldog of Hungarian descent, I
am a proud Glaswegian pupper. My ends are the West, but that’s not to say I’m
not (very) familiar with the rest of the city. Be it an early morning stroll,
an afternoon leg-stretch or an evening jog, I know all the best spots.
Here are some of my favourite places to catch some rays / frisbees.

KELVINGROVE PARK
Closest to my heart (and doorstep) is Kelvingrove Park. Originally
created as the West End Park in 1852 (that’s heckin’ old, frens), the park
measures an estimated 85 acres of land (wow) and acts a link for many areas of
the city. The River Kelvin cuts through the park, making it the ideal hub for
all sorts of wildlife, and an especially great squirrel-spotting zone! Whether
you wanna play ball, roll down hills, steal skateboards or jump in water
fountains, Kelvingrove is the place for you.
Another West End gem is the Botanic Gardens. I’ve heard it’s
an interesting spot for plant lovers (did someone say Cactus Events?) but I’m
sadly not allowed in the Greenhouses, so I don’t find it as exciting as KG.
Despite this, doggos probably get the best Botanics Experience: our
hyper-sensitive noses pick up all the smells - from the burger van near the
entrance, to the rose garden near the top, there’s just so much to sniff.
GLASGOW GREEN
An easy walk from the high streets,
Glasgow Green is the ideal place to escape the noise of the city centre. Fountains
and monuments are scattered between huge stretches of grass, and the People’s
Palace stands proudly at the centre. This is another glass structure that
forbids doggos (what the heckin' heck, Glasgow), but thankfully just 5 minutes away is WEST, one of Glasgow’s most dog-friendly bar / restaurants. I’ll post a review of WEST soon, so stay tuned!
Victoria Park is cool because it boasts a heckin’ old Fossil
Grove and beautifully maintained flower beds. It also has a big pond, home to
some sassy swans… Only really silly puppers would let the swans bamboozle them
to the point of diving in after them, right…?
(Ok, I’ll admit, the water was heckin’ freezing frens. 1/10
would not recommend)
Dwight, you're living quite the life. And those photos - you sure are a charmer!
